Well my back tooth hurts every time something cold goes over it. I drank cold water, and passed it over that tooth, and it hurts. Is it a cavity? :/

  1. A nerve that should be covered by gum or enamel, or something else has become exposed.  --  If you're under 20, it is probably due to decay.  --  If you're over 30 is is probably due to receding gums.

In either case, the sooner you see a dentist the less work he or she will have to do.
