Back up dvds and play them anytime through computer onto tv?

is there a way i can back up all my dvds onto a computer and somehow hook it up to my tv so that anytime i want by just clicking the movie in the computer? i want to be able to store hundreds of dvds on a list and just double click and play it.. possible?? THank you!
