Back uplights and turn signals ?

I have an 88 chevy silverado 4x4 I dont have rear turn signals or brake lights, I am getting power to the bulb because back up lights work. I have checked the fuses,

any ideas on what the problem could be and how to fix

  1. maybe there not getting a good ground.


  2. A common problem of many of these trucks was the rear printed circuit boards that are in the rear where the bulbs plug in to.

  3. Back up lights are a seperate circuit. since you don't have Brake OR turn signals and you say you checked the fuses. I'd suspect the turn signal/hazzard switch, I have repleced a few due to the exact problem you describe. Good luck.

  4. The first place to look if you have trailer wiring is where the hitch wiring splices into your brake and turn signal wiring. It's usually not a factory

    installed item and therefore doesn't have as good a weather protection

    as it needs...
