Question:

Backbend/bridge help?

Im in an Alice in Wonderland dance where we are croquet-hoop-things. Its interesting.

I can do a bridge from the ground and i can walk backwards in it (towards my head/hands). However, i cannot do an actual backbend no matter how many walls i try to climb down.

Also, im having difficulty walking forward in my bridge (towards my feet). For some reason, its just not the same as backwards

Any ideas? back strengthening/stretching? i do have a pretty flexible back, i just cant go all the way down to a bridge from standing!!

HELP PLEASE!!

  1. the key thing, obviously, is practice.

just lean back towards a chair or something hip level and maybe work down from there? like going from leaning back into a chair to a stool or something

    eventually you'll reach the floor?

  2. just keep practicing :)

i know you hear this all the time and you probably think it's not helping but it is

it took me a while to do it but i finally did it because i would practice all the time

    practice makes perfect
