Backflip on trampoline help??

I've been wanting to do a backflip on the trampoline for a long time. Today me and my dad figured out a way for him to help me. He kinda takes my legs and helps me go around. After a while he kinda just let go and i did it myself. When I go to try it alone without him on my side...i just cant do it. What should i do? Am i making myself think that I cant do it? i dont think its a fear, because I backflipped before, just not by myself. If it is a fear...how do i overcome it??

  4. Doing a backflip onto a trampoline definitely helps. The main reason y people cant pull off backflips is because of fear and not enough effort. Mos people believe that just cause they know the way to do one means that they'll pull it off but to do a backflip takes more than knowing the form, it takes explosive energy coming from the knees. Most people think that a backflip starts by bending ur body over but its not. The way to pull off a backflip is too get into jumping position with ur arms fully extended behind ur back and when u jump u have to jump ur hardest. When u jump ur arms come from ur back and into the sky fully extended. Ur arms should be reaching towards the sky with full extention. So basically, its like jumping ur hardest and trying to touch the sky. Now practice that first step for a while and get used to the movement. Now comes the hardest part. When doing a backflip u dont bend ur back but its acutally ur knees doing the work. Now do the same jumping step and when u have that down, force ur knees to come towards ur arms then tuck. The strongest muscles are the legs thats y doing a backflip requires ur legs. When doing the knee step, ur knees are going towards ur arms not ur arms going to the knees. When ur knees are coming towrds u ur going to capture them with ur arms .and tuck them in. This part of the backflip requires everything youve got so give it everything youve got. If u cant get this then heres a drill. Lye on the ground with ur arms fully extended above ur head like i told u. Then practice getting ur knees to ur arms and catching them. Remember its ur knees going to ur arms. Once u pull that off slightly release ur grip on ur legs to land. Keep doing this on the trampoline to improve. Using a trampoline is good way to do a backflip; helps cushion ur fall and get rid of ur fear of backflips. Doing backflips requires a lot of bravery if ur a beginner but dont let fear distract u. Fear is the devil. Give it everything youve got and be careful.
