  1. Hello David. You are asking what about this, but in order to get a background search on anyone other than yourself, you would need a signed release by the person you want the search done on plus he would need to be fingerprinted at the local police or sheriff's department. This is called a BCI check ( state wide) and costs around $20. If you want a more comprehensive check, you can request an NCIC (Fed) check through the State Police barracks nearest you (they would also have to do a fingerprint) and that runs $68.
