Backhandspring tips!!?

Heyy!! Today, i did my backhandspring with my gymnastics coach spotting me.. I want to do stuff at home but obviously i'm not quite ready to be doing my backhandspring by myself =P.. Unfortuanately i dont have a trampoline to practice on.. but i would like to get the backhandspring in the next week or so.. Please give me some things that i can do so i can practice at home.. QUESTION: Nobody in my house can spot but, is it still safe for me to do it by myself?? Just a question!! THANKS A TON!! BYE!!

  1. DON'T DO IT.

    you can seriously hurt yourself.

    i suggest you find some friends who are experts and pratice with them. make sure they have a mat of some sort...because grass isn't good enough.

    if anything find local gyms and look up/call for open gym. then you'll find a professional who can spot you and tell you what your doing wrong and help you improve.

    congrats on the first one! i'm still afraid of them and usually sit out them. :( but i'm going to try my best from now on and i hope you do too.


  2. Don't do it at home, my friend did and she landed on her neck. Practice doing handstands nose to wall and jumping back onto your bed.

  3. dont do it at home unless you KNOW you have a STANDING backhandspring by yourself. its better if you have a backhandspring step-out by yourself so it doesnt hurt your feet when you do it at home. try standing against a wall about a foot away from it and bending back and then pushing your hands off.

    and i jsut did a back hand spring wiht my coach spotting me today too! and i too want to find ways to continue practicing at home, luckily i do have a trampoline to practice on though. But if i were you, i wouldnt practice it by yourself. Do any of your friends know how to spot one, maybe other people in gymnastics with you? if not, try doing some handstand or back walkovers or stuff like that until your next class.
