Backpack for 9th grade?

Question

i'm going into the 9th grade and I got a back pack to carry this year instead of a tote bag, do you think it will be to dorky? but before you say anything i just want to say that at my school we don't have lockers since we have to many kids for everyone to have one, that's the reason why i was considering a backpack since i would have to carry everything all day. That's a cool backpack. I got a pink plaid one at staples. Almost looks the same. ;)

some people get tote bags, but honestly if i had had one my shoulder would have broken off. if you think youre going to have a heavy workload then just get a backpack. really its not a big deal, no one will make fun of you cuz only self concious girls with zero workload carry totes. if youre really concerned ask an older sibling or friend.

i say if you dont want to kill yourself, get a backpack. sucks that you guys dont have lockers.

nice taste but you probably don't need one that big i am goin to the 9th grade too and we don't have lockers either i have a simple jansport backpack with one big pocket and a smaller one in the front thats all you would need a samll backpack

Go for it. I'm in year 10, but last year was h**l for me with all my books and stuff. I've never had a tote bag, but I've heard that if you have too many books and it's too heavy it can give you a lot of pain in the shoulders and neck and cause damage to your back and spinal cord. And by the way, backpacks are so not dorky - I have one, and most of the people at my school use them, too.

If you're going to use a tote bag, I suggest alternating between that and a backpack during the week. Use the tote bag on the "light bag" days and a backpack on the "heavy bag" days. My friend does it all the time, and it works for her!

i think that is fine. people don't really care what your backpack looks like. tote bags are in but they just can't hold everything. a lot of people in my school last year started with a tote bag and switched to a regular backpack. and i think the color you picked is fine.
