Anyone have any must-see places that aren't on the obvious itinerary, like the Eye of London, Wesminster Bridge, Bastille (where it used to be, Louvre, etc. Also, what are some good cheap places to stay?

  3. Hi,

One of the best countries to backpack or cycle in is

Ireland. From one end to the other, there's plenty to

see, and enjoy. In the small towns and villages,

alot of the pubs have a place to stay or there are

    inexpensive B & B's. Check it out. Sorry, I can't

    give you more details.

  4. Get a good guidebook like Lonely Planet's 'Europe on a Shoestring', and work out an itinerary that covers things you're interested in.  LPs guidebooks cover the usual tourist attractions, such as the ones you mention, and also many things that are off the beaten track.  It also covers budget accommodation in both hotels and hostels.
