  1. Have fun! It's a great experience. How long are you going for? For money, people's spending habits vary widely, so it's hard to say. Look at what you're willing to spend for lodging, how often you want to eat out (which you should do at least some just to experience local cuisine), how much you want to see certain attraction. Pick up a few travel guides to get ideas for prices - I like Let's Go guides for traveling cheap, while Lonely Planet generally sets the standard for travel guides and has a range of  prices.

Where to go depends a little on time of year. When are you going? I lived in Spain for a year and loved it but Italy was my favorite, but for cuisine and culture (art, etc.). Switzerland was great hiking, Paris is expensive but almost a must see, Spain has a great mix of nightlife, beaches, and culture (Andalucia is gorgeous, but very hot in summer, Barcelona for nightlife). Vienna has a lot of great museums, but it's a little dead. Budapest is a little gem that's still very cheap, but perhaps a little out of the way (although I don't know much about Eastern Europe in general).

Check the hostel sights for (hostelword.com, hostelbookers.com, hostels.com) for accommodations, or tripadvisor for more upscale.

Feel free to contact me for more info about specific locations.

  2. VISIT SERBIA!!!

  3. Depends how long your going to stay and what sort of places you want to stay at. Most places in Europe aren't that cheap. Definatley go to Italy....nice place but avoid Napoli. Have fun : )

  4. Take $150 per day, for staying in hostels eating out.

You might get by with $75 per day when doing your own cooking and being real careful with your budget but you loose out on much of the fun.

Best places to visit are those you have always wanted to see.

If Europe for you is the little village your great grandfather grew up, make sure you visit it, if you have always read about London and Paris, no Europe trip will do without them, (otherwise, select just one of them, and enjoy a couple of small towns instead.)

Read the resolved questions here, there are a lot about traveling in Europe, all different kinds of travel but mostly doing it on the cheap. (It will still cost you $ 6000 for a month or so, including flight, insurance and things like that.

  5. amsterdamn

    hostels

    Google it

  6. So much depends on your personal interests.  You should find  some of the best Web sites that can explain all the attractions and places to stay and decide for yourself.  LetsGoEurope and EuropeOnaShoeString from Lonely Planet are two of the best choices; they, and many of the best sites for exploring Europe, are linked to and explained in this guide.
