Is it worth it? Is hitchwiking a good way to move around places there? What is a good itinerary( I don't want anything too structured)?

  1. Hitchhiking has pretty much died out in this country, mainly down to people's fear of strangers - you probably aren't going to rape and murder someone who gives you a lift, but they don't know that and as a result it is seen as not being worth their while to pick you up.

You should also be aware that in most places in the Cotswolds (especially rural areas), the buses are of the one-a-week variety. TBH a car is the only viable way of getting around such a rural area.

One idea for something to do is to take a trial flight at Cotswold Gliding Club ( http://www.cotswoldgliding.co.uk ) in a glider (some of which are so new they were only delivered 3 weeks ago) which will cost you £30 and is definitely an experience to remember!

  2. I wouldn't pick up a hitchhiker and, come to think of it, I haven't seen anyone thumbing a lift by the side of the road for ages so I don't think it might be a good idea
