Backside 180's in skateboarding...?

How can i get my backside 180's smoother and more consistent?

a big problam i have with this trick is when i get to 180 the board shoots out behind me.

any advice anyone?

  1. when youre landing try to keep your board parallel to the ground and your weight centered... this should smooth it out alittle


  2. If your board is shooting out it means you have your weight centred too much towards the opposite direction - I assume that by "behind you" you mean the direction you're travelling after doing the 180 (with your back foot now being in front) - in which case you need your weight on your front foot when landing but need to transfer it evenly as quick as possible after that to keep it under you

    The trick to do a backside ollie is to start turning your shoulders before ollieing - this way your body kind of catched up with your shoulders making it easier
