Question:

Backside/frontside grind?

i know the difference, but i don't know why the frontside is facing backwards down the grind and backside is facing forwards down the grind can anyone answer this

If you know how an "urban rail" is approached, then the answer is quite obvious.  You typically ollie onto the rail from the side as opposed directly uphill.  If the rail is in front of you and you ollie onto it, it is frontside.  However, once you are on the rail your back will be facing downhill.   Similarly, if you the rail is behind you when you ollie on from the other side, you are backside - facing downhill as you ride the rail.  It is easier to see than to write an explanation.

  3. it has to do with which edge your leaning on.

    for instance on a frontslide, although your going backwards you are on the frontside edge of the board.

  4. If you r facing the rail when you enter its a front side if u enter with your back to it, its a back side
