  1. ok - how i explain this depends on your level of skating and your understanding of skating.

if you are in a learn to skate program and require this to pass a badge, get comfortable gliding on your backspin foot (depends on which way you spin obviously).

You need to make sure that you are stretching up and that your centre of balance is over your hips. don't "crunch" ... which means don't stick your bum out or fold at the tummy at all.

if you are entering from a spiraling inside edge, make sure when you flip over to your back outside edge that you find your balance. You want to press down towards your toe (the way I explain it to my skaters is pressing down on the pads of your feet ... where your toes meet your feet - like a cat's paw lol) Make sure that your HEEL is leading the spin - not your toe. If your toe is leading then you are on a forward inside edge and the spin becomes very difficult to hold.

Hope this helps - if not ... i can probably add more information! :) Good luck!
