Backstage being supported for Grand National – Horse Racing Update
The horse racing event that is the brightest lime-light at the moment is the much awaited and flaunted Grand National event that will take place at the Aintree racecourse from 7
to 9 April. All the handlers are preparing their race-horses for this mega event, as some of the best and champion colts will be competing against each other.
While some of the colts are being declared for the final field the others are getting withdrawn. The Saturday meeting is a big field race and will be featuring a field of 40 race-horses.
The champion race-horse Backstage, who trains under the care of the famed trainer Gordon Elliott is being considered to contend the Saturday meeting as an off-favourite competitor after his odds were cut down to 6-1 from 14 on Monday by the ever famous sponsors,
Victor Chandler.
Race-horse Backstage claimed a narrow margin victory in The Pigeons that took place on 6
March, this is the second time that his odds were revised by the punters. He is being promoted for the mega event, as the nine year old works out to compete against the champions of many of the prestigious meetings of the country.
When the spokesman for Victor Chandler, Charlie McCann was approached by the correspondents to inquire about the Grand National meeting, he was reported as saying, “We wanted to get money for the Gordon Elliott horse given we think he lacks the form or the
profile of a horse that will go off market leader despite having a similar point-to-point preparation as 33-1 winner Silver Birch in 2007.”
The marker of the Grand National event is headed by the race-horse The Midnight Club. The colt trains under the care of the great trainer Willie Mullins and has left Backstage at odds of 10-1 for the other firms in the National market. The winners of the
Coral Welsh National meeting, Synchronised and Notre Pere have been withdrawn from the Grand National meeting, as Don’t Push It will carry the highest weight in the Saturday event.
