Backyard sanctuary ideas?

I am trying something new, Im always stressed out and can not meditate ect so I am building a rock garden with a pond, im goig to plant some plants around it, getting the garden cleaned up, gonna build a back fence....oh ya i only rent the landlord just doesnt do anything and I feel this may help me

What other cool unique ideas do you have for my little sanctuary??

if you're renting, check with the landlord before adding anything permanent outside.

an easier solution is to find a corner of a room, set up a few floor cushions, add candles for light and a focal point, and play a CD of meditation music. Close your eyes, use your imagination,  and be transported.

I am a landscaper and designer. What a wonderful idea. Everyone's garden or landscape should be there own personality and haven. How about incorporating a Yen garden feel? The Japanese pride themselves on Yen gardens and a place to come and get in touch with the mind and nature. Rocks and water are a big part of this style of garden.

You can also create a haven using your favorite colors, textures, and plant specimens. Do some colorful shrubs, flowers and some herbs.
