i just went to the doctor and turns out i had BV (Bacterial Vaginosis)

The gave me medicine called Metronidazole to take for a week.

The said DO NOT HAVE s*x or it wont go away.

Thing is i just started my period and forgot to ask if i could use tampons.

Do you think it would be okay to use a tampon or will it keep the bacteria inside me and make it worse?

  1. Yes it's probably fine.

The reason you shouldn't have s*x is because your partner can reinfect you (he shoud perhaps take a course of antibiotics too).

Tampons go in and then come out and into the bin, so they're fine. As with thrush, there is actually a symptom remedy that involves yoghurt-smeared tampons!

But if in doubt, always ask your doctor.
