Bad ISP, What can I do?

My isp (Virgin Media Uk) is only giving my up to 100kbps at all times.

When I am paying for 8MB, my line can support that as well. I have complained many times, but they keep telling me the same thing, reset your router, and they end the call with there is a problem with service at the moment, just got to wait. Problem with service for the last 3 months. And I have to pay off the contract to cancell it.

  1. If you have a written contract for 8MB service, they're in breach of contract and you can void the contract.  Five minutes with an attorney shouldn't cost you anything.


  2. Complain to OFFTEL.

  3. complain enough and get them to refund all ur money and get free internet till its fixed

  4. Sounds to me like they are in breach of contract if they can't provide the bandwidth you are paying for. I would call and ask to speak to someone in charge instead of a $7/hr phone support person.
