  1. I have heard the natural repellent is cayenne pepper. This way you are not dealing with poisons and pesticides that can harm pets and children.

  2. I get ant buttons, and use ant spray around the edges of the house. And also, I would spray the window sills, and the bottom of the walls.

  3. my house has a very bad and infestation too. i suggest you find hole or cracks in the edges of your walls then seal them up. also you can get bug killer and spray it around the bottom of your walls outside and your windowsills.

  4. They are always bad this time of year, especially if you live in an area that had flooding recently.  They don't like that water.  You probably have an old house too.  Make sure you keep your counter tops, sink and floors free of any crumbs or food.  Buy combats (little ant motels) and anywhere you find ants coming through cracks or doors, put them there.  They say on the directions, not to kill the ants because the ants will take the "poison" back to their nest, but they usually don't make it that far.  I ended up having to clean up a bunch of dead ants.  Put the combat trap out around the perimeter of the house also.  You can usually find trails of ants on your foundation going into the house.  Give this a try for a week if it doesn't work BOMB the house!
