Bad at sports in gym class?

Ok I'm like really bad at sports. I mean like I can do some sit ups and stretch and stuff but when it comes to sports I realy stink. Like I can dribble a basketball and like a soccer ball and hit the ball most of the times but like everythin else I'm horrible at! Like if I somehow get the ball in basketball I don't kno who to throw it too and when the baseball comes my way I don't wanna catch it cuz idk where to throw it to. i don't even kno how to play basketball and baseball and football! and in the fall I'm going to middle school and we're gonna have gym EVERY DAY and get graded. I don't wanna like get a D in gym cuz I'm bad at sports and I'm afraid kids will laugh or talk about me or think I'm wierd cuz I'm bad at sports. So please help how can i get better at sports, not care what other ppl think, learn how to play basktball baseball and football and any other tips. Please help I don't wanna be a gym class loser!

  1. First of all, you don't get graded on your ability, you get graded on participation. Our gym teachers (in every grade from K-12) teach you the rules b/c they hate it when you don't know how to play. If I were to write a guide for every sport we've played in gym, it would be a very large book. Our teachers would spend the first day passing out rules and explaining it. They also show you examples and simulated situations. Don't worry gym is easy. (Maybe that's just b/c I think sports are the best thing ever)

P.S. There's always people that are bad at sports. Let's say you have 25 people in your class. Only about 6-7 actually are that good at sports. Most are so-so, and then there's the people who won't touch the ball (and right now, that's you). Just be confident and if you make a mistake it doesn't matter b/c your in gym. It's not like you're playing for a chance to make play-offs or anything. It's all for fun.

  2. ummmm... LEARN HOW TO PLAY!

    thats the magic of google!!!

maybe you don't know who to throw it to because you don't pay attention to whos on your team! and what do you mean your just going into middle school. why is there a 10 year old on yahoo answers?

  3. To get better at sports, you should probably try to learn more about the sports and what to do when you get the ball. That way you won't be clueless if you get the ball. In basketball and football, if you don't know what to do with the ball throw it to the nearest teammate who is going in the direction of the basket or touchdown zone. If you're playing baseball you should throw it to the pitcher or to a baseman where a person is running to that base. You should ask your teammates to tell you to throw the ball to them because then you will always know who to throw it to. If you want to get better at sports, play with a friend who is good at that sport and maybe they can help you get better. To not dread gym class....well just try and have fun with friends. Usually gym classes are big, so you probably have a good chance to be with your friends. Instead of worrying about what other people think, just try to have fun.
