  1. Seems quite clear, your horse pulled a muscle in it's back leg about a year ago and is still having problems stretching it out fully still now!!!

Your vet likely injected her with a pain blocker, if they inject this into a local area and the horse then shows no signs of pain you know what area is causing the pain.

OK, I would help her manually to stretch out, especially that leg. With our guys they are stretched out every day.

We take every leg and pull it back, push it forward and push it up. This helps with suppleness. We have seen a marked improvement in jumping especially.

Also try feeding any treats like carrot or apple in a way that encourages them to stretch. Make her stretch that neck to each flank to take it, or stick her head right between her knees.

Also, if you come behind your horse, hold her tailbone in both hands and lean back (don't pull or jerk). Your horse should lean away from you to compensate for you pulling her back, (you may hear and feel some cracking the first few times) this is also great for skeletal fitness.

As far as suplements go we use a product called, The "Easy Cookie". It has all required supplements right in there, including Glucosamine for their joints!!

  2. Equine touch may help you in this situation.  I use it with my mare when she gets tight in her left hind leg and it really helps loosen her leg muscels up.

But if it is a seriouse medical issue then this may just help a bit or not at all it has diffrent affects on diffrent horses.

    Good luck

  3. With the information that you have provided, it is practically impossible to even begin to help you.  Firstly, we need to know what tests the vet has performed and what he has ruled out...You aren't specific about what kind of "problems' that you are having with your horse...I will check back and see if you have added any further information regarding your horse's condition, symptoms, how often these symptoms rear their ugly head, what does it take to get these symptoms to appear, etc, etc, etc..

  4. your question isn't very detailed but you can put him/her on some complete vitamin/mineral supplements it won't cure the problem but it will help maintain it. ask your vet what he thinks you should do and if they don't much get a second opinion there are more vets out there that specialize in "leg problems" and such.
