Bad checks?

Question

I'm sure I'm going to get a lot of negative responses to this question but I'll ask anyway.

I've written quite a few bad checks so I could feed my children.

I live in Iowa and don't really know the punishment I could receive for this.If anyone knows that would be great.

I already know what I did was ignorant... I was desperate and didn't know what to do.This past year has just been so hard my husband lost his job and is trying to find work we have 4 kids and can't afford the cost of daycare so both of us can work.

I'm not trying to make excuses and would appreciate it if everyone answering would please just answer my question and

try to leave out the criticism.Thanks so much to all who answer.

If you are able to make the checks good, which doesn't seem likely, you will be charged and receive probation.  Probation will range from 6 mos. to a year.  But you will have to make restitution.  If monies not paid, you could go to jail.  Next time try Social Services, Food Pantry.  anything.  If your spouse is home then you should get a job, even if it is cleaning houses.

u will have to buy the checks back from the stores, with a fee for them on top of amt of check....if they will let u or they could take u to court and depending besides paying for the checks, there would be fines and possible probation and depending on the total of all the bad checks, possible jail time.  u need to talk to the people u wrote them to and see if they will let u buy them back and remember, there are agencies that can help u if u need food for ur kids, i would start at social services.....good luck
