My son had 2 fillings so was given anasthetic, there was so much, his face froze,he couldn't even blink. This lasted over an hour. Now 2 weeks on and the dentist says he has got an infection and his face has swollen.Hehas had to have 2 lots of antibiotics which has cost him about £14 apart from the cost of all the dental work. Can he recover any of his money back from anyone

  1. Doubt it sorry

  2. On the NHS he can complain

Privately he will find it very difficult. He would need proof that the dentist was negligent. If you don't have that proof then forget about claiming.

  3. Just because he had fillings doesn't mean the dentist was negligent, infection can cause the face to be swollen and he needs an antibiotic, The anesthetic was not the cause of anything unless your son is allergic to it but that is not the dentists fault, the infection can be there evan though he had the fillings done. sorry.

  4. Sorry but this can happen. No negligence on anyones part. Its just life I'm afraid.
