Begin a routine of always checking the locks on your doors and windows before bed. This will promote a feeling of security, even when the chances of your home being burglarized are slim. Make sure that your valuables aren't in plain sight through your windows as well. Do anything you feel is necessary to make yourself feel at ease in your own home.
