Bad dvd blank discs (sony brand)

Question

I am unlucky when buying dvd blanks. One or two out of a 30 pack spindle will work. Is there any solution to this problem? Is my dvd burner on my laptop dirty and needs cleaning? I find it hard to believe that out 3 30 pk spindles of blank dvd'ds, only five in all worked. Need help, can someone give me feedback on this problem thanks.
