a little while ago i ate some hash with a friend, and my heart sped up loads (150bpm), i had lots of pain in my chest, i was pretty afraid, and me and my friend had to go to hospital. i was ok and i was told that my heart is not damaged.

for a few days afterwards my heart would hurt a bit if i ran up stairs or something similar. that has passed, and i recently had an ECG which came out fine.

the problem is that im used to exercising a lot, but now when i exercise and my heart starts really fast, it seems to keep beating a bit too hard/ fast for too long, and i feel a bit like im panicking. also sometimes when im trying to go to sleep i feel anxious about my heart, i feel like im having palpitations or that something is wrong.

to me it doesnt seem like theres actually something wrong with my heart - i think this problem is psychological - but im wondering if anyone has any advice about it or knows how long it is likely to continue?

i think my condition is gradually improving, although i just did the tiniest bit of exercise today and my heart felt like it was going nuts. i feel ok most of the time, i just feel afraid occasionally.

advice?

thank you

(and no, im not taking drugs again!)

  1. I think the first mistake is associating cannabis with the effects you feel now... cannabis has an active effect of 2-8 hours on average and it's metabolites are still seen in the body 4 weeks later... you probably have anxiety and the association isn't helping... stop focusing on it... it's not the weed...
