who has/had a bad experience with the target store? I applied for the target credit card (my credit score could not be better), which I can use in every store. What I got,was the target card, which I can use only in target with a 25 % interest. When I purchased something, they never sent me a bill for this month. I just got a bill the month after with 15$ fee.I think, that somebody is trying to make money on fees. What is your experience with this store?

  1. Bought some food items there and found out that we could use our food stamp cards there also. So took the merchandise back to have it taken off my card. Well the "supervisor" said the marked down merchandise was no longer on her inventory list so she could not sell it back to me!

I thought that merchants were in the business to push merchandise and make money. So she said they would just return the merchandise to the vendor and receive credit.

It just showed me that most of the michiganers that I have run into are really "pea brained" and cannot think "outside the box." So I don't shop at Targets any more.

  2. I had the exact SAME problem. They didn't send us a first bill, tacked on late fees, and they keep tacking on late fees and i've been paying ON TIME EVERY MONTH. We had a $400 credit limit and used $300, and now our balance is $535. I flipped out on them and said if they don't fix it, i'm taking them to court cuz its REDICULOUS. They are out for money. I loved that store, and now I hate them.

  3. I am ever fearful of having a late fee.  What I have done is eliminate paper mailings of bills and have them email me when it is due, then pay online.

I also keep track of when cc's are due on my calendar.

  4. I have not applied for their card, but some cc comp do play games to tact on fees.  One example is a company that we used to use would change the due date to confuse their costumers in order to get late fees.  I know this sounds like we are just paranoid, but we saw it on a show and realized it was being done on purpose.  So we change cards a lot if we do not like the company and we always pay off the balance every month.

This way you get the benefits without the interest payments.  And I would advise you to just keep one card for every day use and just put the others away or do not even apply for anymore than one.

Less is more when it comes to bills, and it is true what your parents told you about spending only what you can afford to pay for right now.  If you cannot afford to pay off the cc every month just use it for emergency's only!!

This way you do not get in over your head.
