  1. When this happen once with one of my pair of my jeans. I use small mexican bar of soap called Zote and laundre detergent into my jeans after it was finish washing no more smell.

  2. Doesnt that suck? Happened to me before. I didnt smell that mildew smell until i started to get sweaty. No c**p this really works, they make this wash for hunters that takes all the scent out of clothes. My cat peed on a basket of wash before, and I used this stuff, my husband had it, and it totally worked. If it works on cat pee it'll work on anything! You can get it at Walmart in hunting section.

  3. Wash them again, put a cup of vinegar in the wash cycle and hang them in the sun to dry. Make sure when you hang them you shake them out alittle first. You just keep baking the smell in by putting them in the dryer. When you hang them make sure they aren't bunched up too much - you want the fresh air to get everywhere. good luck!!

  4. There a few things you can do to remove the smell, which is the beginning of mildew and is quiet stinky!  Start by washing the clothes again, with the warmest setting you can for what you have, if they are darks then just go ahead and use either warm or cold.  Add 1 full cup of vinegar once the washer has filled with water, once that has mixed a bit, add a full cup of baking soda.  You may see a bit of fizz, but most likely there is enough water you won't see much of it.  Let it mix thoroughly and then set the washer off and allow it to soak for 1/2 hour, then resume the cycle.  As soon as the cycle is done, take the clothing and immediately check for ANY whiff of that odor.  If you get a WHIFF of anything but CLEAN, take the clothes and start again, this time with a 1/4 cup of bleach if a front loader, a 1/2 cup if a top loader.  Repeat the cycle above, adding bleach AFTER the washer has filled with water, or in the bleach dispensing cup on the washer.  Let it mis thoroughly, then set the washer off and allow it to soak for 1/2 hour and then resume the cycle.  If you have an extra rinse cycle, use it on this go around.  As soon as the cycle finishes, take another whiff, should smell nothing but a whiff of bleach and clean.  If nothing else is whiffable, then in the dryer or out on the clothesline, preferably out on the clothesline in full sunshine and breezes.  The problem is once mildew sets in, it can linger and keep on growing and stinking worse and becoming more and more embedded in the fabrics.  Because they were damp and set into a plastic bag, they were able to have ideal sprouting conditions for this mold to grow and unfortunately, it is quite stinky.  If it goes on too long, it will begin to be seen, as well as smelled and its even harder to get the mold and mildew stains out of clothing.  It especially likes the natural fibers of cotton and wool is VERY prone to it.  Polyesters will release the mildew and mold much easier than the natural fibers will.  If you use these methods and deal with the laundry promptly, you will be up and running in only your own smell.  Hope this helps you!  Good luck!
