  1. Your mind frame is lack of money. That's a bad position to put yourself in. Be grateful for what you have now... be grateful for the money your making now. What does it feel like to be financially secure? Really feel it. Defy logic because it will keep you stuck in your current reality. Don't doubts or second thoughts. Believe. Somehow you will get other source of income or you may get a raise. Be optimistic.

  2. It doesn't take a genius to realize you have a truck that you really can't afford so if you can't get out of that payment and/or lower your insurance cost, you'll have to find ways to increase your income. On a short term you can borrow a few bucks for gas and food and such but that won't work on a long term basis because all you're doing is going further in debt. Consider a part time job or business using your skills and free time to make more money. Spend some time clipping coupons for food items and getting recipes on low cost "cheap eats" and concentrate... I mean really FOCUS... on getting out of debt and living within your means.

  3. lemonade stand.

  4. It may not sound good to you, but the best thing to do is trade in your truck for something a little cheaper. In your situation a car note of around $150 or less would give you more flexibility with other bills. As for now spaghetti, tuna, and grilled cheese are cheap food options. Good Luck

  5. Walk you lazy b*****d!

    jk, jk, sorry

    borrow money?

    sell drugs?

    prostitution??

  6. That truck payment is killing you on that salary. For the time being, ask to borrow a very small amount from someone to cover the absolute basics. When you get your next paycheck, set aside enough money to pay half your insurance and other monthly bills. Continue living frugally. Then when you get the check after that, you'll be able to pay back the small loan and you won't be in the predicament that you're in now.

I seriously suggest you get rid of that truck payment. Even when you're somewhat financially secure, a car loan is a dumb idea. But it's an especially bad idea for someone pulling down $8.50 an hour.

And the other answer was somewhat correct; positive thinking can affect the way you carry yourself, thus leading to a better situation in life (be it socially, financially, or whatever). But there are times when positive thinking becomes self-delusion. In your current situation, I recommend a strict budget until you can save enough money to unburden yourself from that truck payment and get into something more reasonable (see: paid for). A vehicle that you own outright will allow you the freedom to tweak your insurance policy a little bit and put more money into a savings account.

  7. You got a few options:

    1. Second job.  Not a very attractive option, I know, but sometimes you gotta do what's needed.  (If I can survive a full load @ a university and work 2 part time jobs, I'm sure almost anyone else can too)

    2. Overtime.  Again, not attractive, but you'll have more money and some bosses are impressed if you're willing to put in extra work.

    3. Cut expenses.  Take food with you to work, cut back on going out, eat more meals at home, run errands when you can take care of a bunch of things at one time.

    4. Change tax status on your check.  I think it's the W-4 form that allows you to change your tax status which determines how much tax is taken from your check.  You can claim 1 or 2 and that might decrease how much tax you pay which each check.  But be warned, you might have to pay taxes when you file your return instead of receiving a refund.
