its only because the springboks arent very good - you cant call a two test series between England and South Africa a  test series when england play what amounts to their THIRD test side.

Austrailia arent much better - hence the close match at the weekend.

Saying that all thre sides will get hammered by the All Blacks this autumn!!

Yeah England have got this weird thing going with there sporting teams:  They are absolutley rubbish at Football, rugby, cricket, netball etc. but there punters / fans are still thinking at any moment they are going to pull the best game of our generation out of the bag.  The mind boggles dun eet?

Do I need to remind you that South Africa was the only team to beat the All Blacks last year??? When last did England or Australia beat the men in Black.

How can you ask that and at the same time spell England incorrectly.

It was a waste of time going on that tour with a squad full of players who don't deserve an England cap.

But I don't think any proper England rugby fan would put South Africa down. The football chavs "supporting" England are an issue, but everyone knows to ignore them.

Speaking as a rugby player in England, an England rugby fan and a great admirer of Southern Hemisphere rugby there is no way that I would put South African players down. You Boks have an excellant pack with a couple of truly great players such as Burger, Matfield, and Pierre Spies, some of the fastest and most exciting backs in world rugby and are probably only a world-class fly-half away from having a world beating side.

Having said all that and looking on the flip side of this argument we in England are more than a little peed off that we are always being accused by the Southern Hemisphere sides of being arrogant and not giving your sides any respect. That is total c**p as far as I am concerned. If anything it is the Aussies who are the world beaters in bad mouthing opponants.. I have been to Australia and the stick you think we Brits give your teams is nothing compared to the arrogance and sledging of the Australians towards any opponants in any sport.

Also I have been to South Africa to play rugby and let me tell you it's hostile man. The abuse and aggression shown to us as purely an amateur side was unbelievable amongst white South Africans, infact it was only actually in the townships that we were welcomed and not in danger of serious injury either on or off the pitch. We were not professionals, or representing England in any way, just a group of rugby players and mates from a English town out to have a good time, see the world and play some rugby but for some reason we were targetted and abused at every match we played in, apart as I said from in the three townships we played against where the people could not have been nicer, more welcoming or more of a joy to play with or against. I'd like to ask what's up with white South African rugby players and supporters that they should behave in such a way ?

Hi - you will upset all of us if you can't spell our nation properly.

Not all of us put any other Nation down I think you are referring to the few ignorant nerks who call everyone or the English press (about the same thing really).

Those of us who truly follow the game love our chosen nation dearly and suffer what ever team they put out whether it be 1st XV or 4th such as in South Africa.

The reality is though I will recognise ANY nation and give them the credit they deserve when they play good rugby, admittedly it will be grudgingly when they beat us. But I and most of my fellow supporters will always give it.

Also why do people feel the need to pull each others nations down. Healthy banter and natural competition is good but a lot of you guys make it so personal. People from every nation revel when their team does well and so they should but why try and put the boot in when its not going so well. Its not that long ago that the boks got beaten by England by a record score. Everything in the game is cyclical so what goes around comes around.

You need to remember Engand won the cup fair and square in 2003 and on the run up to the tournament and in the tournament itself beat all of the teams mentioned above and beat them well.

The current team is poor by comparison and it will be someone else turn this year but Southern hemisphere teams and fans sem to have an issue with the English. Forget the personal c**p and enjoy rugby for the fantastic game it is and enjoy watching whoever may be best at that point in time, that changes like the seasons. If you are lucky it will be your team at a certain point but that will change.

Has anyone team one ALL their games in the last 10 years NO. Therefore anyone is beatable on any given day.

They don't! Not the majority of them anyway!

They have the same mentality as us, we support two teams: The Springboks and whoever is playing Australia!

They support two teams: England and whoever is playing Wales!

I always have a great time when we play each other, whether it's been at the local rugby club, Twickenham, Pretoria, Durban, Cape Town, Wellington, Hong Kong, Dubai or wherever in the world. (I'm including 7s tournaments here).

I look forward to the World Cup and the banter that goes with it.
