Well im thinking about joining the army, but i kinda heard a rumor they wont take you if you have bad teeth. I have bad teeth, really bad. I never brushed them when i was a kid and i haven't been to a dentist in about 5 years, and all i did when i was a kid was drink soda and one of my teeth is almost gone. Im really embarrassed how bad they are and i regret not taking care of them, there really in bad shape.

  1. no, i don't think they will deny you because of your teeth. but it wouldn't hurt to call and ask questions about dental hygiene.

  2. Hello, Yes indeed your dental situation can be an issue that can have an effect on weather or not the military will accept you. In some cases they will take you and do what's necessary to get you back in shape dental wise...You need to know however that military dentistry isn't interested in providing cosmetic dentistry or spending money on creative procedures such as crowns to keep a tooth for enlisted personell...they will more likely just extract bad teeth and replace them with a removable dental appliance....However, if you were part of the "officer core", they will provide the more cosmetic procedures such as crowns and bridges....Check with a recruiting office and find out the exact policy...usually a recruiter will know what it will take for you to be accepted...Good luck and I wish you well.
