Question:

Bad to eat the same thing for breakfast every day?

I eat two eggs every morning for breakfast. I do them differently, sometimes with hot giardiniera, sometimes an omlette with veggies, sometimes hard boiled. Is it bad to eat the same thing every day like that? I am trying to lose weight, so I dont want anythign high carb, id like to focus on protein and fruit/veggies. A fried told me that my body becomes complacent with digesting the same thing all the time, and I need to change it up to jumpstart my metabolism. Is this true?

  1. Eggs not really a good thing to lose weight, especially day, it's full of cholesteral too

    Apples, cerea;s, oatmeal could work, they don't take much preparation time


  2. I would definitely switch it up. I think your body will get in a rut and you will stop losing weight with the same food everyday.  Don't be afraid to eat carbs. There are a lot of healthy organic cereals out there, organic waffles,etc.  I eat all of that stuff and I am losing weight. I also work out 4-5 days a week. Good luck!

  4. It's probably not a bad idea to change it up a bit but you do that in your preparation.  Have you read the recent research that came out las week that said people who eat 2 eggs for breakfast lose more weight and keep it off better than those who don't eat eggs?  Interesting...

Unless your activity is strenuous every day, I would cut back on the eggs because of the cholesterol factor.   Your body will adjust to what you take in, going slower if there is less energy in the foods you chomp down on, but at the same time it can only go so fast with high energy food.  The rest gets put away as fat.

  7. as long as you are mixing it up with different veggies  or cheese or whatever I dont see a problem with it.  However I do believe that you are only supposed to eat like 4 eggs a week, because they are so high in cholesterol.  I would try and cut down on the amount of egg yolks you eat.  Eating a high protein breakfast is better for you than eating fruit for breakfast believe it or not.  It gives your body more energy and it lasts a lot longer.  Good luck!

  8. There isn't anything wrong with eating the eggs everyday.......especially since you on a low carb diet. They are a good source for protein. Your metabolism is already jumpstarted just by eating breakfast.

  10. There is nothing wrong with eating the same breakfast everyday.  Make sure of course that you don't have high cholesterol, otherwise, eggs are perfectly healthy.  

  11. actually, it's a good diet strategy to eat the same foods when you're trying to lose weight. studies have shown that people stick to their diets better when they don't have much variety. this is because you're less likely to want a second helping of something that you eat day in/day out. Since variety stimulates the appetite, the more monotonous your diet, the less you’ll eat. also b/c you're telling yourself that these are the foods that you're permitted to eat & you're not to deviate from that routine.
