Alright, Wireless is set up in my room my computer works fine, But my mothers computer in the other room (about 30 or 40 feet away) has terrible connection, It disconnects constantly and reconnects, And when my friend comes over he uses the computer for online gaming with myself, And everytime he tries to play wow it is a VERY BAD connection either lagging or disconnecting every 5 mins or so And her laptop is fine no lags or disconnects, And my connection is perfectly fine, The router is a Linksys WRT54G.

  1. I have that same router, and have only occasionally had problems.  Are the disconnects due to the router, or the internet (DSL or cable modem)?  (If you're still connected, but mom and/or friend get dumped, it's probably the wireless.)  Is there a concrete or metal wall between the router and whoever has the bad connection?  Is there any interference?  Do you have a 2.4 GHz wireless phone in the house?  (That would be a major problem.)  Is a neighbor using the same wireless channel?

Make sure your device firmware (both on the modem and the router) are up to date.  That helped me when my DSL modem was dumping all connections every hour (wireless was still connected, but internet was down).  Try repositioning the router within the house (locate it central to all users, and make sure no large metal or concrete objects - like an appliance or a basement wall - are in between router and computers).  Make sure you have no conflicting devices transmitting competing signals.  Try changing the wireless channel (in the Basic Wireless Settings of the router's config tool) and see how that affects things.
