Bad workmanship?

we had our bathroom tiled by someone we thought was experienced but he has totaly ruined it what do we do

  1. You have legal consumer rights when buying a service. It wasn't carried out with reasonable skill and care, which is one of your statutory rights. You must contact the trader immediately and ask him/her to rectify the job to your satisfaction. The site below will give you more info than I have room for here.


  2. call your local trading standards, he should either re-do it or give you a refund xx plus, try it yourself next time, it's not as hard as they make out!

  3. if this person is not a licensed contractor, then there is nothing that you can do.  You can try to withhold payment, but he can actually take you to small claims court for non payment.  The only thing that you can do is to take him to small claims court if he somehow have misrepresented himself or his services.  If he is not licensed, you cannot legally hold him to any minimum standard.

  4. don't pay him, if you have paid him your knackered

  5. How has he totally ruined it?  My husband has been a tiler for 30 years, if you explain what has happened, perhaps I can help.
