Chinese Taipei Open GP Gold: Tien Chen Chou topples Hsuan Yi Hsueh in Men’s Singles quarter-final
Chinese Taipei’s impressive shuttler Tien Chen Chou proved his mettle on court as he eased into Men’s Singles semi-final after taming his compatriot Hsuan Yi Hsueh in quarter-final contest at Chinese Taipei Open GP Gold 2012 in Chinese Taipei, on Friday,
October 5.
The spirited Tien Chou, who has been showing tremendous performance throughout the tournament, continued putting up stunning performance and toppled Hsuan Yi while taking just 33 minutes on court.
Tien Chou was in staggering form as he entertained his home fans by playing to his maximum potential and remained successful in beating his challenger in straight games with a dominating margin on score board.
In the meanwhile, Hsuan Yi tried his best to stretch his winning run but he failed to answer the perfect play of his opponent and also remained struggling throughout the battle. He went down to his in-form team-mate without winning any set.
Right from the starting points of opening set, both shuttlers played to their maximum speed by taking the bird early but it was Tien Chou who controlled the pace of rallies and managed an impressive lead until the end of opening half.
After the mid-game interval, Tien Chou continued executing powerful smashes and also showing his craft at net. His net shots were incredible which helped him to remain in dominating position in the concluding half.
In the ending points of opening set, Tien Chou remained successful in taking the opening game with a crushing 21-11 score on the board.
In the following set, Hsuan Yi tried to show aggression but he failed to live up to the expectations and remained struggling to create pressure on his challenger.
On the other hand, Tien Chou continued playing in dominating manner and took a wonderful lead until the one-minute break.
After the interval, Tien Chou remained on track and did not show any mercy to his country-mate. He was everywhere on court and ended up the game with a killing margin of 21-15.
The lofty Tien Chou won this quarter-final contest in just 33 minutes with a spectacular 21-11 and 21-15 score on the board.
