Badminton Asia Youth Under 19 Mixed Team Championships: Khosit Phetpradab overpowers Jae Wook Jung
Thailand’s upcoming shuttler Khosit Phetpradab stunned everyone when he proved his mettle while playing against Jae Wook Jung of Korea at the Badminton Asia Youth Under 19 Mixed Team Championships in Korea, on Sunday, July 1.
The impressive Khosit showed his elevated skills while playing against the Korean shuttler and stamped his supremacy by ending the fight in two games with a dramatic margin on the score board.
The Thai shuttler was aggressive in his approach as played at his maximum speed and did not let his Korean rival to dominate the pace and eventually wrapped up a tremendous victory in 29 minutes.
Jae Wook, on the other hand, played competitive badminton and kept his home fans engaged throughout the contest but failed to live up to expectations in the ending points and lost the match in two game with a respectable margin.
In the first game, both youngsters showed their aggression by taking the bird early and executed powerful smashes to take advantage but they remained close until the end of opening half.
After the one-minute interval, the Korean tried to inject more power into his shots but failed to break the defence of his rival who was at his best on court.
Both shuttlers progressed while remaining focused in the game and reached at the nail-biting stage of 20-20 when Khosit played attacking badminton and score ending points to grab the game with a close margin of 22-20.
In the following set, Jae Wook worked well in opening rallies and played at his best speed but he failed again to take lead as his gritty opponent had effective answers of his tricks on court.
Both contestants played at the same level and speed and the score was tight until the end of first part of second game.
After the interval, Khosit played with precision as he manipulated all loopholes of the Korean by putting variations in his shots. A huge variety in his shots helped him to bag the second game with a narrow difference of 22-20.
The in-form Khosit thrashed his local opponent in straight games with a stunning 22-20 and 22-20 score on the board.
