Badminton - Hitting the shuttle with the rim of the racket...

Is it legal to hit the shuttle with the rim of the racket? Because most beginners do because they miss the shuttle and its the only way they score on me because it is almost unpredictable...

So, in badminton is it legal to hit the shuttle with the rim of the racket?

Yes, it is legal. But I don't think it is easy to score point that way because there are possibilities that the shuttles not going inside the court.
