Bayern Munich versatile player, Holger Badstuber, expressed his frustrations with Der FCB’s poor display in their Champions League defeat at BATE Borisov on Tuesday. The central defender suggested that the team lacked the cutting
edge needed to break through the opposing defence.
The Bundesliga outfit faced a 3-1 loss at the hands of the Belarusian side in their Group F clash, but the centre-back stressed that Die Bayern did not take their opposition lightly ahead of the game.
The young defender revealed that he does not know how Borisov scored, but said that his team did not do enough to win one-on-one duels. Moreover, the home side was really deadly on their attacks and it was enough for them to secure
a comfortable victory.
"We don't know how we conceded against that team, but we just weren't aggressive enough in one-on-ones to win balls, and they were just clinical with their counterattacks, and that can be enough," he was quoted as saying in an
interview.
The talented player said BATE scored first, but maintained if FC Hollywood had capitalised on their chance the scoreline would be different. On the other hand, Bayern tried to level the game but conceded a crucial second goal that
killed the game for the German club.
"They scored the opener, but if we had then taken the chance we had to score, it would have ended differently. After that, we were trying to equalise, and their second goal was decisive,” he stated.

"We take every opponent seriously. We knew what to expect here, especially after they beat Lille 3-1 away,” he finally concluded.
