The Bayern Munich defender has insisted that the Blues will be on the offensive in the final and is hopeful of a win.
Bayern Munich defender, Holger Badstuber, is looking forward to see an aggressive Blues side in the final of the Champions League this month. He was talking in the wake of criticism of the Stamford Bridge outfit which was highly
slated after their defensive approach in the semi-final against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604.
Chelsea played defensively against the Catalan giants in the second-leg of their semi-final which they managed to draw 2-2 after the normal time. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Di Matteo’s side won 3-2 on aggregate to set up a date with the Munich giants
at the Allianz Arena.
Badstuber reckons that Chelsea cannot afford to relax in the final showdown and will need to maintain a balance between the attack and defence. While talking to official club website, the 23-year-old further added: "I'm sure Chelsea
will want to keep it tight at the back because we have a fantastic forward line, but they'll also want to go on the attack themselves.”
The centre-back assumed that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 will play attacking football especially in the first period to gain advantage. However, he thought that the Blues might go defensive in the second-half if they are able to squeeze a lead in
order to win their first ever Champions League title.
Badstuber admitted that Chelsea possess the stronger defence out of the two sides but still believes that both teams have equal chances of lifting the crown. He urged the fans to come out in large numbers for Bayern’s support and
also pushed the visitors to play an open game for the sports’ goodwill.
"I don't think they'll be as defensive as against Barcelona. I think they'll contribute to a game of football and try to take the initiative. I think it'll be a much more open match, although Chelsea are obviously strongest in
defence," the defender concluded.
Both Bayern and Chelsea will lock horns on May 19 at the Allianz Arena after Bayern defeated Real Madrid in the second semi-final on a penalty shootout.
