The Bayern Munich defender reveals he would rather face England than http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926, after the Mannschaft booked their place in the semi-finals of the 2012 European Championships.

The Mannschaft had a quick turn in fortunes over a few a weeks. Joachim Low’s side were far from impressive in their warm up friendlies, and suffered two heavy losses as they conceded five against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899.
The disappointing display led to a few controversial changes, the manager decided to drop a few experienced heads in favour of young blood. He replaced Mertesacker with Hummels and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marcel-Schmelzer-c23530 with Jerome Boateng.
The results were evident as DFB eleven kept a clean sheet in their first Group B clash against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mats-Hummels-c24767 and Holger Badstuber blocked almost every shot that came their way.
The Germans eased through the group stages by picking up nine points out of nine. They convincingly defeated a lacklustre Greek side in the quarter-finals, to book their place in the semi-finals of the 2012 European Championships.
Die Nationalelf’s potential semi-final opponents http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 and Italy have to play each other.
Joachim Low’s the winners from that quarter final. When asked about which team he would prefer to play, Holger Badstuber was quick to reply England. The Bayern Munich man believes his side recently played England in the 2010 World
Cup, and eased past them. He thinks the Three Lions style of play suits them more than Italy.
What he meant was that Roy Hodgson’s side tend to let their opponents have the possession and hit them on the break. Badstuber believes his side have countered this style of football in the quarter finals. The 23-year old thinks
DFB eleven would not find it difficult to break down a sturdy English defence, which has conceded its fair share of goals.
Italians, on the other hand, have moved on from counter attacking defensive football, towards a more attack minded passing game similar to the Germans.
"I would rather face England. Why? They suit us better,” Badstuber is quoted as saying in an interview.
Whichever side they face in the semi-finals, the Mannschaft cannot get complacent, because the English are capable of hurting top class sides on their day. The Three Lions cannot be underestimated due to the talent in their squad.
