Badureliya Sports Club crept up to 160 runs - Sri Lankan Premier League Tournament Tier A
Badureliya Sports Club was bowled out at 160 runs by Nondescripts Cricket Club in their first inning. The Sri Lankan Premier League Tournament Tier A match is being played at Nondescripts Cricket Club Ground, Colombo from May 6 to May 8, 2011.
Tharindu Attanayake and Yashoda Lanka opened the innings for Badureliya Sports Club but faced a set back once Lanka was gone for a duck on the fifth ball.
The Nondescripts Cricket Club bowlers were unplayable in their early burst and did not allow any batsman to settle down. They grabbed the second wicket after the addition of 14 runs, third wicket at the total of 28 runs and the fourth batsman went back to the pavilion as the total barely crept to 36.
Attanayake got some support from Shalika Kaunanayake, the duo consolidated the innings by adding 51 runs for the sixth wicket.
Nondescripts struck again, getting rid of Attanayake, who was well set and lost his wicket after contributing 52 off 104. The fifth wicket fell at 87 runs and the batsmen were on a slide again.
As the wickets kept tumbling, Ranesh Perera and Gayan Sirisoma aided their team with a 34-run partnership for the last wicket. Perera was the last batsman to go back to the pavilion after adding 25 runs in 59 balls.
The whole Badureliya Sports Club was bowled out for 160 runs in 57.5 overs.
Nondescripts Cricket Club gave away 16 extras which included seven wide balls.
Kosala Kulasekara and Tharaka Kottehewa were the main wicket takers with three each while Ramesh Subasinghe and Roshan Lakmal shared two wickets each.
Nondescripts Cricket Club has a good match on their hands and their strong batting line up can pile up a huge lead, leading to a deserving victory.
