Nondescripts Cricket Club 161/7 (20/20 ov) v Badureliya Sports Club 162/5 (19.4/20 ov) - Badureliya Sports Club won by 5 wickets (with 2 balls remaining)
On Wednesday, March 28, 2012, Badureliya Sports Club registered another win in the ongoing CSN Premier Clubs T20 Tournament after beating Nondescripts Cricket Club by five wickets with two deliveries remaining in the match at Sinhalese Sports Club Ground, Colombo.
After winning the toss, Badureliya chose to give their bowlers a first go at the opposition as they wanted their batsmen to have a meagre tally to chase after coming out to bat later in the day.
The bowlers backed the decision of their skipper by making early inroads as they grabbed their first wicket at a time when Nondescripts Cricket Club had posted only six runs on the board.
Then with 11 runs on the scorecard, it was time for the batting side to lose their second wicket as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Michael-Graydon-Vandort-c75922, who had come in at number-three faltered without scoring a run.
Then skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Jehan-Mubarak-c66822 forged a tough resistance against the bowling side in a bid to put enough runs on the board to give their bowlers a fighting total to defend.
Mubarak then became the third causality of the day as with a total tally of 60, the batsman fell after smacking 14 runs off 17 deliveries.
Later, while the skipper found his way back to the pavilion after smashing a sensational knock of 56 runs, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Angelo-Kanishka-Perera-c44682 was the one who belted an innings of 54 runs in the depth to help his side post a respectable total of 161 runs on the board.
With a tough total ahead, Badureliya Sports Club needed a steady start to their innings in order to successfully chase the total; however, with only seven runs on the board they lost their first wicket.
And by 35 runs, the side had lost two more wickets. With three wickets down, Badureliya Sports Club launched a rebuild phase as opener http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Karunanayake-Pathiranalage-Shalika-Piyamal-Karunanayake-c70358 clobbered knocks of 74 and 39 to play a major role in helping their side secure a remarkable victory.
