Badureliya Sports Club v Sri Lanka Air Force Sports Club - CSN Premier Clubs T20 Tournament – Match Update
Badureliya Sports Club 127 (20/20 ov) v SL Air SC 78 (15.1/20 ov) - Badureliya Sports Club won by 49 runs
On Friday, Badureliya Sports Club humiliated the number four team in their group in the ongoing CSN Premier Clubs T20 Tournament, after beating http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 Air Force Sports Club by 49 runs at Colts Cricket Club Ground, Colombo.
Badureliya Sports Club, who secured a second place in Group A with seven points after playing four games, chose to bat first against SL Air Force.
The side lost their opener, TM Sampath, early with only three runs on the board as Sampath walked back to the pavilion by posting just one run on the board.
The start of the innings was not what the team had hoped for because after losing the opening batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mahamandige-Sahan-Rangana-Wijeratne-c73768 and Dhananjaya de Silva batted tactfully in order to avoid the fall of another wicket which was inevitable as with 42 runs on the scoring card, the side finally lost the services of de Silva, who could bolster only 13 runs off 14 deliveries.
After this, the middle-order failed to put a show as they went through a batting collapse. It was during this daunting period that Wijeratne also perished after scoring an innings of 39 runs.
Later, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Illeperuma-Arachchige-Roshan-Laksiri-Illeperuma-c64169 belted a stupendous knock of 32 runs to help his side amass 127 runs on the board.
From SL Air Force, Sahan Jayawardene was the best bowler with figures of four wickets in four overs.
With a small tally to chase, SL Air Force failed to put up a show as they lost wickets at random, losing their first wicket with only two runs on the board.
By the time the side had amassed 48 runs on the board; they had lost five of their main wickets and were in a spot of bother.
While the upper batting-order put up a fight, the rest of the batsmen were just not equipped enough to tackle the bowling they were up against as the side faltered on 78 runs in 15.1 overs.
