Bae Sang-moon wants to keep the Ballantine's Championship title in South Korea
Bae Sang-moon is ready for the upcoming Ballantine's Championship, and is looking forward to keeping the title in Korea.
The 25-year-old South Korean has learned several techniques through the extensive experience that he gained at the Asian Tour events in the past. The star is likely to impress the spectators on the golf course.
Now, after performing well in Asia, Bae believes that he is capable enough to challenge his rivals at the Blackstone Golf Club, Icheon in Seoul, South Korea.
"I used to play in Korea but from 2007 I played on the Asia Tour. Playing on the Tour has helped to widen my horizon and it has also improved my golf skills," said Bae.
Since turning professional in 2004, Bae has won 11 titles in total. He recorded three victories at the Asian Tour, two at the OneAsia Tour and three at Japan Golf Tour.
In the current year, he is playing the PGA Tour events in the United States. His performance at the PGA events is also impressive. He has not won any title yet, but has improved his world ranking to a great extent.
He finished tied for the fifth position at the World Golf Championships - Accenture Match Play Championship and achieved the runner-up position at the Transitions Championship in the play-off mode.
After making a successful debut start of the current season, he is gearing up for the upcoming European Tour event in South Korea and desires to keep the title within Korea, by winning.
"I've always wanted to come back and thank my fans once I've done well in the United States. And I think I've been able to return home quicker than I had expected," said Bae.
He added, "There's always going to be pressure because I feel that I've to live up to the expectations of my fans. There are many top players taking part in this tournament but it is with confidence that I'm returning home to compete".
Y.E. Yang, Ji-ho Jung, Tae-kyu Lee, Ho-sung Choi, Heung-chol Joo and Young Nam are the other Korean professional players, who will tee off with Bae on Thursday, April 26, 2012.
Having several South Korean natives in the field will make their domination stronger. There are many opportunities for Bae and others to keep the Ballantine's Championship title within their country.
