The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international has rubbished speculation that he is unhappy at Stade de Gerland and is looking to move abroad in the upcoming transfer window
A sting of excellent performances this season has helped Bafetimbi Gomis receive a huge amount of praise from the pundits and coaches. And the striker has been linked with a move away from Les Gones amid concerns that Lyon need to sell players to balance
the books.
Several top European clubs have shown an interest in acquiring the services of the highly rated Frenchman. However, the Lyon player has no desire to depart quite yet and is hoping to finish the season at Stade de Gerland.
Gomis, while talking to reporters at a press conference, stated that he is perfectly happy at Lyon and reports linking him with a move away from the club hold no truth.
The 27-year-old said that he wants to finish the season with Lyon and he is not seeking a move away from the club. OL are one of the best clubs in the country and the player wants to do even better this time around.
"I want to finish the season here and do even better than last year", explained the 27-year-old.
Gomis knows that because of Lyon’s financial troubles, they need to sell few players, and the Frenchman is aware of the fact that he can be sold by his employers in the upcoming transfer window.
"You never know what can happen in football and we all realise that there are players who may have to leave", he continued.
However, the former Saint-Etienne player is more than happy at Stade de Gerland and is looking to finish the season with Lyon.
“I am happy here and I want to finish the season here.”
On a question regarding his future, Gomis said that playing abroad is an idea that attracts him, but at the moment, he is a Lyon player and he holds no desire to depart.
"Of course it is true that there are certain leagues that I like and eventually I’d like to try, but today I’m not thinking about it. I’m not troubling myself with the idea of leaving."
