Question:

Baggage length condsideration???

the accepted overall length in continental airlines is 157cm (length+width+height) my box is 161cm. would they charge me an additional fee or will they just accept it cause its only 4cm longer???

  1. It probably depends on what kind of mood the check-in agent is in at that particular time.  I'm sure they're allowed to use a certain amount of discretion, but if he/she is ticked off about something, you could be paying.


  2. I usually use a bag even smaller than the requirement because even the bags that just fit under it go over in the weight regulations too. They will hit you with fees for oversize AND overweight and in both directions you are flying. Better to be safe.
