The last time Marcos Baghdatis played Lleyton Hewitt at the Australian Open, back in 2008, the end result was the latest running match in the tournament’s history. Of course when you put Hewitt, renowned for his five set scraps, on court less than 15 minutes to midnight you get what might be expected. In that case it was a match that finished after 4.30 in the morning. Funnily enough, organisers have this year scheduled the third round clash as the first of the night matches on centre court at Melbourne Park.
