Bahama cruise on Carnival Celebration...What do we pack?

What in the world do we pack? So far, all we have decided on is our basic toiletries (makeup, shampoo, body wash, hair bursh, toothbrush, toothpaste, curling iron, flat iron, tylenol, dramamin, pepto, tums, etc), our camera, and our clothes for the formal dinner. How do I know what the weather will be like to know what I need to wear and what my hubby needs to wear. How many outfits do we each need to pack? I don't want to be cramped up in the room, but I don't want to NOT pack something, just to realize I needed it! OK, so there it is........what do you think??????

Several bathing suits each, cover up for you, shorts, tops, flip flops, light sweater just in case. Capris for you, one pair of long pants for him (just in case it's cool one day)

Try to match your clothes with only 3/4 different colors so you can mix and match. For example white, tan and green.

What ever  colors you like. Two neutral colors and one other.

If you are going for 7 days, don't pack 14 outfits. Try to do a mix and match. Shorts can be worn more than once. A skirt can be warn twice with a different top.

My advice is pack less clothes and more money.Have a great time. Enjoy)

swim suits, fip flops, shorts, etc.  My husband and I always end up over packing.  The weather in any part of the Caribbean is always nice.  We usually go to the Bahamas in November and it is stil really HOT.  My sister went in June and she said it was very muggy and humid.  You do not really need to pack body wash or shampoo.  That is provided to you on the ship.  I would put more effort towards the outfits for the formal dinners and of course curling irons so you can stay cute.  As for other clothes the minimum is the best way to go.

Go to CruiseCritic.com, click on "Boards" at the top of the page.  You will find boards on many topics that will be very helpful to you, including "First Time Cruisers", "Ports of Call", etc.  There are several packing lists to be found there.

For formal nights, take a "crushable" long black skirt or dressy pants, two "sparkly" tops that are also easy to pack; put them in a ziplock bag and squeeze out the air.  This will save lots of room.  You'll find more helpful hints than you can possibly use on the CC boards.

BTW - Don't bother to take an iron - they're not allowed.  But the ship will have a laundry room that probably has an iron.

Some other tips about packing for a cruise...

Pack everything you want/need before midnight in your carry-on bag.  This includes any precriptions, OTC meds, valuables and breakables.  It can take several hours for your luggage to be delivered to your cabin.

Take along a power strip. There is only 1 outlet in the room. A night light because the rooms are wicked dark, an alarm clock for early departures on port days.

Take along one of those new XXXL Ziplock bags for dirty clothes.

Mark the handles of your luggage with bright yarn or ribbon to help you find it during debarkation.  There is a sea of mostly black luggage and it can be time consuming to locate your pieces if not marked clearly.

Pack one extra outfit for port days.  You will usually want to change into fresh clothes after your shore excursions.  Be sure to include slack or jeans for your hubby if you plan to go to the dining room for dinner.  No shorts/tanks during dinner.  My husband wears dockers and my Dad wore jeans.

What should I pack?

The first thing to remember is that you're on vacation and you are aboard one of our "Fun Ships" to have a good time. The second thing to remember is to travel light. If you keep those two things in mind, you should do just fine.

Casual attire and resort wear is the order of the day both on board and in port. Shorts, slacks, sundresses, blouses, etc., are in line for women. Clothing for men is just as casual. You should bring a pair of rubber-soled sandals or sneakers to wear on deck and a pair of good walking shoes. You might also want to consider bringing along a sweater or jacket for cool evenings and inexpensive rain gear in case of a sudden shower. Women may want to bring along a hat or scarf. You'll have a chance to dress up on two nights during 7 day or longer cruises (one night on shorter cruises) for the Captain's Cocktail Party and the Gala Farewell Dinner. On the other evenings you can dress casually for dinner (no shorts or tank tops).

For those not wanting to dress up, the Lido Restaurants are open nightly and have a casual dress code. Formal Wear: tuxedo; suit and tie; sport coat, tie and slacks; evening gown; cocktail dress; pantsuit Casual Resort Wear: sport shirts and slacks; dresses; skirts; pantsuit; Capri pants NOTE: Shorts, t-shirts, tank tops and bathing attire are not permitted in the Dining Room during dinner.

swim suits. more than one in case some are still wet from yesterday.  casual clothes.  like for shopping or hanging around.  shorts and a jacket or sweater.  i would pack as many outfits as you have days on the trip.  if i were you i would bring some cute little dresses.  they will have shops that you can buy tums and stuff so i don't think that's so important unless you just take them every day.
