Bahamas leagal Dinking Age?

Im going to be going on a cruise and we stop at the Bahamas and Virgin Islands what is the leagal Drinking age i have a friend that is 16 and she is wondering if she will be able to drink down there? thanks for the help :-)

18 is the legal drinking age.   I went there in 2005.

The drinking age is 18 and above. However, no one checks ID, so if you look close to 18 you can get booze. Much advantage is made of this by young Americans, particularly during the high point of the college year--spring break--where they visit in legions. To make things worse, or better (depending on your point of view), rum is usually a third of the U.S. price.

I took a cruise when I was 17 and the bartenders said that they will serve you if you can reach the counter!

i have been to the bahamas, just watch out for strangers trying to sell you drugs, because they actually take drugs very seriously down there and you really dont want to start an international incident.
