  1. I love the Bahamas and have been there many times. We mainly go the Out Islands (I've been to Bimini, Cat, Crooked, Exuma, San Salvador and Eleuthera).

The Out Islands are a whole different world than staying on Grand Bahama or New Providence. They are laid back, quiet and not very developed (depends on the island).

I used to have a pretty bad opinion of Nassau (New Providence). However, the last time we stayed there (Feb. 2007), it was like night and day. The people couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. From the people at the resort (Cable Beach) to the locals on the bus. Don't know what changed but it was noticeable to us.

To make a long story short, if you are looking for nightlife and some action, go with Grand Bahama or New Providence. If you want a more laid back vacation, go with the Out Islands.

Wherever you go, the water is absolutely beautiful. You won't believe the shades of blue you'll see.

OK, I'm ready to go back now. LOL.

    Have fun.

  2. fun palce nice people and the food was so so.

  3. Well the experience traveling via cruiseship, SUCKED! If you plan to actually SEE the BAHAMAS, plan out all you want to see ahead of time. The confusion once in PARADISE  is less than perfect. All the taxi drivers and skooter rental people chase you to get your business, so id make all arrangements ahead of time. know exactly WHERE your going and have everything planned, if you dont the locals will surely confuse you. When shopping, you might possibly be asked if you want COCOMANGO?? this my dears is COCAINE!!!! I couldnt believe it? even asked me if we wanted HERBAL REFRESHMENTS?  Be careful of the locals, they arnt as friendly as they seem to be. I felt like i was being hustled the whole time!  While in Atlantis, NOW THATS CLASS!! Very well kept property with $9.00 bottled water!  but you feel safe and you pay for it!!! over all the trip was exciting, but the next time, ill fly there, get a hotel, and stay as long as i want. Dont buy any jewelry off the street, and DONT DRINK THE WATER!!!

  4. we stayed in Freeport at Island Seas Resort - unfortunately the weather sucked while i was there - either realy windy or pouring rain.  The food is outrageous in price, the cab drivers will rip you off if you let them.  It will be awhile if ever I return to Freeport.

  5. Try TripAdvisor.com to get feedback on places to stay from past guests.  [Be aware - they censor for any posts with references to crime, so you can't tell about safety, except from general comments about what an area is like.]

  6. i am staying on crooked island until july for work. i live in a lodge that is a litle out dated but its soooooo beautiful here! i get to watch the sunset everyday over the blue and turqoise water. theres a lighthouse a couple miles offshore that is fun to kayak to. the food here is awsome and so are all 200 of its people (small island). the full moons are the best and if you like stars, the sky is more clear here to see them that anywhere else in the world!
